    Very good! More sauce is good if the sauce is, well, good. But sometimes it’s good to just let the other ingredients do their thing. Sounds like it came out great

    Looks good. Sufficient cheese. But you are right, no real need for the bell pepper. Wonder what some threads of fully ripe Hungarian wax peppers on the top would have done w. the look and taste.

    I like the way you think. The top looks blah after it's done cooking. And the peppers would amp up the flavor for sure.

    Our (read as my wife’s) lasagna recipe uses small curd cottage cheese, cream cheese, and egg instead of ricotta.

    SWMBO just told me she puts egg in with the ricotta.   I have never done that.  But then again that's one of those dishes I never read recipes before making.

    @jeffwit that sounds better than ricotta. In fact, I may try paneer between the layers next time.
