OT- Yeti Rambler "Hack" - OT

I don't know if anyone else finds this to be an issue BUT... when I put a 12 oz beer in my Rambler it is LOOSE!  I don't even have to pull the locking ring off.  So....

Insert foam cozy of your choice into the Rambler

Insert your favorite 12 oz bottled beverage

re-install locking ring

Snug as a bug in a rug!!

(PS... Brent... yeah I know replace the cracked tile... maybe someday!) B)

    Seems like this is a design flaw from the "KING" of the high end cooler and makes that $25 price tag harder to swallow.  They do clearly show a bottle being used in the Colster on the web site.  If it was me I'd go back to Yeti and see what they say.  That being said, I drink a bottle of beer fast enough that Wisconsin summers can't catch up.

    When using beer bottles in the rambler you must leave the "can" that comes with the YETI. It is designed for that as the top of the can comes off.

    I do the exact same as the OP with my Yeti.  



    Side story.. We had beer koozies made for our wedding, only thing is the minimum was like a batch of 350 so we still have dozens of extras 8 years later.  I just flip them inside out and they are basic black koozies and if I lose them no big deal.  

    Heres a stash above the stove.

    @Cornholio I have one of those “wedding koozies” from a college buddy’s shindig. 

    Marriage ended after a year. But that koozie has had a lasting relationship with me. 

    He got remarried last month. I couldn’t go but I heard a groomsman busted his out at the reception.

    I've some other brand uses a koozie inside their metal beer bottle holder. That's the only insulation it uses. People complain that the koozie ends up mildewing and stinking in a short time. So make sure to air yours out occasionally.

    A little bit here and there but have fought off the temptation to invest more time and money into it.  Beer brewing actually led me to the BGE and I put more time into the egg than brewing.

    Tip for cleaning coffee residue etc out of Yeti (or any) tumblers etc, use Five Star PBW.  I put a little bit in mine then fill with hot water and let it sit for a bit then scrub while rinsing.  Gets rid of the coffee smell when taking sips of beers or other adult beverages other than coffee.  If it’s good enough for cleaning brewing equipment than it’s good enough for me.
