OT —- Orioles/Angels Sunday Day Game in Baltimore

greetings friends!

ROAD TRIP!

a few buddies and I will be on the third base line for this one. If you’re around Baltimore for a drink and a crab cake, shoot me a text. We’ll be hitting the harbour and fells point after it’s over.

    Sounds like an awesome trip.

One of my favorite restaurants anywhere is in the Harbor area- Charleston.

Probably not the right vibe for this trip. But if you are up there again worth it.

Have some crab cakes and beer and enjoy the game.

@Wolfpack. I took my wife to Charleston for her birthday in May.  Really enjoyed it.

@MaskedMarvel You’ll not find a proper crab cake at the Inner Harbor.  Get in the car and go to G&M or Jimmy’s.  Each is 10 minutes from IH.

    Gonna be hot bro, hydrate...

Ughhh G&M is the worst.  They use that nasty SE Asian crab and it always tastes off.

Best crab cake I’ve had in a restaurant in a while has been from Woodberry Kitchen.

At least it is Chesapeake crab.

And you're the guy suggesting he go down to G&M and not to Fells Point.

No, I said he can’t get a proper crab cake at the Inner Harbor - I did not mention Fells Point in my initial post.

Does Woodberry have crab cakes on its menu year ‘round - or only when it can be gotten from the Chesapeake?

    I agree about the IH.

All I said was that based on my experience, G&M is ok if you’re fine with Vietnamese crab, and the last good crab cake I had out was at Woodberry.  Those are both true statements.  They are definitely small sample sizes - one at WK and 2 at G&M.  I know lots of people who love G&M, and if you do, go for it.

Been there many times, going back to my college days.  Haven’t been in recent years, but I’m sure it’s still cool.

Yep. Coopers and a few others. Mt Washington tavern is another good. Not fells but a good spot. It’s been 15 years since I lived in that area.

Dude, I've been too busy not doing anything but make sure the couch didn't accidentally violate the laws of gravity and float to get off my butt and comment here, but that last shot of the harbor is something else. Been too long since I've been down there, think I need to plan a weekend down that way with the missus this fall.

  • This post made me miss Baltimore bigly. Looks like tons of fun was had!

FWIW, my favorite crab cake in the area is a tie between Koko's and Faidleys. Koko's is probably a stronger cake overall but the Faidley's atmosphere can't be beat.
