BGE Warranty Question?
SBGonzo
Posts: 137
So my LBGE base cracked and I submitted a warranty claim via my dealer. The new base came and I installed it today. My question is, do I now need to register the new base with BGE? I noticed there are ID numbers stamped on the inside.
Thanks, and warranty process with BGE was very easy.

I would imagine you would need to register it just like when when buying an entire egg. I would call the dealer and check.

I would just register it - whatcha got to lose? Not like to takes a ton of work to do so...

I have had my base replaced multiple times and only registered the original purchase.They/Them

Hmm, guess I should have thought to do the same with my new lid I got after losing mine to user error last year. Gonna email BGE with my replacement info to be safe.

If I were you I would. I sure wouldn't count on my dealer's employee, let alone the dealer him/herself knowing the crystal ball answer NOW for some NEW warranty policy in the future!
In the early 2000 years when we bought our 4 eggs there was no ink stamped serial number inside. Back then there was a BGE cookbook which had a heavy paper page to tear out and complete with your name and address to send to the Mothership. There was no assurance your mail even arrived in Atlanta and even was recorded!
On top of that there was no assurance that newbies even found the Miller's forum which was the original egg owners forum which had no connection with BGE!Re-gasketing the USA one yard at a time -

Well that just sucks. I'd look around and see if there is another dealer within driving distance.Philly35 said:Must be nice. I’ve been waiting over four months for a new firebox from my dealer.They/Them

I have-had a hairline crack in my fire box in both my small and large. I shot pictures of both and emailed my dealer. Like Semolina said the dealer ordered them and in three weeks I picked them up separately. It was like a years spread. I am still babying both and the two new are still in their box. I’m riding the hairline as long as possible.

Well I talked to my dealer and he said the guy in charge of warranty’s for the area had quit and he passed my info on to his rep. No other dealers in the area. He said the main office for the area (somewhere in Minnesota?) is going through some big changes. Lots of people quit. I’ll just contact the main office as I’ve gone through them before. Before this dealer came on board, there were none. Bomgaars used to be a dealer but quit. He only carries BGE charcoal and has been out for months. Sounds like he has a pretty good rep from what I hear but the actual BGE service is a joke.NW IOWA
