Cast Iron Grille

Still new and still amazingly happy with my Egg. Just purchased the cast iron grille. Wondering if it should be tempered like a cast iron skillet or pot, or is it pre-tempered and no need. Thanks

I never seasoned mine and it was fine. A lot of people don’t like the BGE cast iron grate. I really like mine.Pittsburgh, PA. LBGE

Just spray it with cooking oil regularly and keep it out of the weather. I love mine.Slumming it in Aiken, SC.

Please don't spray the grille while it is on the Egg. It's a good way to lose all the hair on your arms if not more. I use a cooking oil soaked paper towel held in a pair of tongs to oil mine just before cooking. Other than that just regular brushing like all my other grates.

It will lose seasoning doing pizza at crazy high temps.
I just cook a pork shoulder or something like that and it’s back to perfectly seasoned
