Hinge Springs Question

I have a large green egg that is five or six years old. Recently, the dome has been giving me problems: when I raise the dome I have to hold it for a few seconds or it will begin to come back down on its own. Is there some kind of maintenance I need to do? Thanks.

You can order a new set of springs from your dealer or direct from BGE.
They do loose their strength.Thank you,DarianGalveston Texas -
had one spring crack once. also your egg could be leaning forward slightly, it does not take much
