Q: Transporting an XL

Y'all sold me and I'm about to buy a demo XL.  I'd like to get it home in the back of a BMW X5, which has a hatch opening that is ~32.25" at its most narrow point.  The demo egg order form says I'll need 33", but I checked the BGE site and it says an XL is 27.25" tall and weighs 205 lbs.  I assume this is going to fit standing up no problem, but would appreciate some reassurance.   I'm not averse to taking it apart if required. Thanks!

Call the dealer supplying the egg, have them measure.

Take the lid off, it will also make it easier to handle when you load it.

I measured mine and it’s roughly 31” (a tad less). They might have changed the design in the past couple years though.

The 27.25” is probably the original XL from way back.

Thanks everyone.  Dealer said no problem.  They'll break it down or deliver it to me if needed.

should fit, my XL went home in my prius  :open_mouth:

My dealer was shocked to get it in there.  I was happy, I was able to leave all of the cardboard with him.

My dealer delivered mine already assembled and walked me through how to lid it and light it.  Now I am only about 3 to 4 miles from my dealer.  I would take them up on the delivery if it is free.  If they break it its on them.

I just measured one for a customer for our Demo Eggs. It measures a hair under 32". If you tilt it a bit when loading, it should fit.
