That meat looks good, I might have to give sams another chance

Stopped in there last week to get stuff other than meat and glanced at the new department.  Big improvement.  It was needed with new neighbor coming in the fall.

Yep, they closed the newer store down the hill from my house and put 6 mil in the Davenport one.  I'll just stop by after work on my way home now for prime or Berkshire.  =)

They even had prime sirloin. Not that I would go there, but if the price is right.

    Brandon,
I had been a 2 year hold out about joining COSTCO in East Peoria until Jan '17. I carefully kept records of what we LIKED, what we paid and what we bought at which chain. As it turned out we continued our SAMS membership which had expired in June '17.

Like I think you said you found - the competition from COSTCO made our SAMS up their GAME and we still buy certain things from each. As for the cleanliness of the stores and friendliness of the staff there is no contest...COSTCO wins hands down!

Last week we even upped our COSTCO status to the $45 higher status of Executive. Before we even left that day we had already saved $47 which paid for the upgrade!

Good deal my friend, but does Costco have unicorn rafts?  Floors look clean enough for me.  Never paid attention to it until now. Lol

These stores are really not a place I seek, nor need,  good customer service.  It is, what it is.  I go there, folks are all nice, I get gas, buy meat, cheese, Revolution beer, or a handle of Evan Williams, have a Nathan's hot dog or polish, and then bounce.  I don't need my hand held here.  Maybe I'm not using my membership to the fullest, or confused at the need for customer service at these places, like a Walmart...but I've learned, buying in bulk is not always as good of a deal as you think it is.

One of my favorite Mexican grills is a dump.  You're not there for the ambiance.  Most get squeamish, I embrace it...keeps it a diamond in the rough hidden gem. Lol

I like to support others as well, Hy Vee, Schnucks, Jewel, Aldi, for specialty products only found at each.....based out of Des Moines, Chicago, St Louis, and Germany.

Sam's has always been my meat store.

Now that is a perfect brunch. Love the waffled potatoes technique. I’m thinking a Bloody Mary would be a great accompaniment to that Prime strip!

    Oh hell yes!
Maybe poach the eggs too, letting the waffle bed catch the yolk.
    Always room for improvement. =)

Seems like a worthy excuse to visit Prescott's in Sterling.  Get some Chicken George while you're at it.  ;)

Not sure "da man" will be there, but the store is such a nice one with so MANY things to buy that you might want to check the available balance on your plastic!  =)

I told a friend of mine several weeks ago that he needs to use Rockwood and he went to Sterling a couple weeks ago and raved about the place.  I have been bringing mine back from Tennessee.  No room this time around so will be going to Sterling every few weeks for reload.  After all, it's grilling month !

The most tender fried chicken tenders you'll eat.
It's quite delightful.  Friday's are jumbo margs for $2.  Get extra Jan's sauce.
Candlelight Inn, not far off 88, you'll pass it on your left on your way to Pete's.  You want to take the second exit for Sterling Rock Falls.

Made the trip to Prescott’s this morning.  They have got everything you need for sure.  Could have spent a chunk but settled for 5 bags of Rockwood.  Will make many return trips.

Super easy, thawed out enough tots to fill the iron at room temp for an hour or two.  Cooked over medium heat until golden.  The tots mold into the paddles as they cook.  Standard hashbrowns are a thing of the past, and it's another great use for the waffle iron.
