OT - Quote and the Grey Box

When the home button was brought back a weird bug crept in.

In the past when I deleted the first word, my cursor would jump to the grey box.  Now, if my first word is mispelled it jumps into the grey box too.  Then I need to delete everything and start again  to make it ot of the grey box.

Has anyone else noticed this?

    I've had this issue on my Android phone for a long time, not so much ony iPhone .

    Solution= I start a response by typing a space first. Keeps it from jumping back to the grey box.

    You shouldn’t be able to edit something that you’re quoting, not even to fix spelling errors.
