would like to spatchcock a chicken. I have never cooked one. How long does it take and at what temp? This will be cooked in a lbge. Looking for some help from all that have had success with spatchcocking.

Several ways to go on this. I prefer raised, direct around 375-400. Cook the bird skin side up the whole cook with the legs towards the back of your egg. Usually takes around 40-45 minutes but determine finish by internal temp. 150-155 on the breast and 170-180 thigh. Have fun. Its a great way to cook chicken.Sandy Springs & Dawsonville Ga

Looking good. Fwiw, I snip off the wing tips and tuck the rest of the wings. I’m also a raised direct guy like the others. I think it gives you a better cook and a more “pit style” result, if that makes sense. Nice work!

That's a great outcome! Well done and congratulations.Coleman, Texas
Large BGE & Mini Max for the wok. A few old camp Dutch ovens and a wood fired oven. LSG 24” cabinet offset smoker. There are a few paella pans and a Patagonia cross in the barn. A curing chamber for bacterial transformation of meats...
"Bourbon slushies. Sure you can cook on the BGE without them, but why would you?"
