BBQ Hood Recommendations

I am looking for a BBQ Hood/Insert to install above my Large BGE on my patio. The area where it will be installed in is surrounded by walls on 3 sides with the 4th side open to the screened in pool area. I already have a corner module where the egg will go, so I have to install the hood in the corner too, so I am thinking I will use an "insert" and make a custom solution. Trade-Wind is one brand, their L7200 series looks good, but pretty pricey at around $1800 for a 36" hood. If anyone has additional brands they have been happy with, I would love to hear it and see pictures of how they installed it. I think the hood probably needs to be a 1200cfm (ish) model to provide enough ventilation during startup.

    I would consider a CO detector too.

    I hate it when I go to the kitchen for food and all I find are ingredients!

    Sarcasm :grin:  While you're at it ya might as well throw in an Ansul system too. And a MAU >make-up air unit< oooh oooh and biofiltration grid. 

    In all seriousness as cheap as CO2 detectors are I'd have 2 .One low and high.

    Yup, we already have one near the garage, probably a good idea to put one near the door to the patio.  Its lots of open air, so shouldn't be a problem, but definitely better safe than sorry.

    @Carolina Q Just messing with you Michael.  CO2 detectors are well worth it even though his area is a screened free breeze lanai.

    =) Key word is screened. Apparently, screens retain CO nicely.
