OT — GRATE Wall of FIRE!!!

Greetings friends,
we have. ~1930 home. Shallow fireplace. Probably originally coal. Still find chunks in the yard when I do some digging...
so smoke in the house had been an issue with regular fires.
Brandi and and I were watching some chick flick that takes place in a bed and breakfast and they had a fireplace grate that looked like it was turned on it’s back end, so the grate was facing the room. It basically held the wood against the back wall of the fireplace.
I said we needed one of those.
Fast forward two weeks and my new Grate Wall Of Fire has become the focal point of the house. We’ve gone through a half cord of hickory in a week. We’re loving the fireplace now.
Got it off of Facebook marketplace - my new favorite place to be... $100. So deals are out there.
Check
them out!

Looks nice, going to burn down fast with no air control though.

Thanks for sharing. Like you, I also have a shallow fireplace, so this is worth looking into.

we love our wood burning fireplace- always near the top of the list when we have moved. With the cold weather this year I think is missed my guess on the amount of wood needed. Been through the better part of a face cord and only have about another 1/2 FC to go
Even though they always advertise as “seasoned” I’ve never had a lot of luck finding wood that will burn when delivered.Greensboro, NC -
Great solution for you. Looks period too...Charlotte, NC - Large BGE 2014, Maverick ET 733, Thermopen, Nest, Platesetter, Woo2 and Extender w/Grid, Kick Ash Basket, Pizza Stone, SS Smokeware Cap, Blackstone 36"

Out here in the Nanny Republic of California, we are told when we can and can't have a fire. If you have a fireplace. Which you cannot have anymore in a new house, or if you remodel an existing house. My fireplace was converted to natural gas, so I can have a semi-real fire any time I want. When the dictatorial government outlaws barbecues, I will become an outlaw. Actually, with the freakin' gun laws here, I already am.XL BGE in San Jose, CA. Also a Pit Barrel Cooker, a Cal Flame P4 gasser, and lots of toys including the first ever Flame Boss 300 in the wild. And a new Flame Boss 500.
