Big Green Egg Thermometer Question......

I've owned my BGE about 5.5 years. Most of the time it stays covered when not in use but occasionally gets left out in the elements.

I recently noticed that the thermometer dial hand was over pretty far to the right and did not look to be calibrated correctly. Last night i had a fire ripping to sear some steaks and the thermometer said 350 which I know was low. It was probably closer to 700.

I say all this to ask - do these thermometers go bad and wear out over time? Any suggestions on replacements?
