Fresh, stone ground grits with cheese. Would have been better with fresh shrimp, but frozen had to do.
Tasty, and wife approved.

I sauteed some finely diced onion, bell pepper, jalapeno and minced garlic in olive oil, added some diced tomatoes and reduced it a bit. Added some black pepper and just a dash of salt and a couple of splashes of hot sauce.g8golfer said:Looks great. What sauce is on top of the shrimp? -
I do. Im a huge fan of sushi but hard to get fresh fish. The sushi you made some time back was unreal looking @bgebrent. Can’t get that in the mountains. I’m 2 hours from a decent size city. Town I live in has about 5-6k people.

Yes, even more difficult north of you up in the GA mountains.JRWhitee said:I love making shrimp and grits, hard to fine fresh shrimp in GA. -
About 3K here. We are so far up in the woods we don't get the six o'clock news until 7:30.g8golfer said:I do. Im a huge fan of sushi but hard to get fresh fish. There is nothing wrong with frozen shrimp. You can't tell the difference if the shrimp are processed properly.______________________________________________I love lamp..

Hey JR Georgia is the best place to find fresh Wild Georgia Shrimp. Check out the sign at Fairhope Rd and if the flag is out there are really fresh shrimp. Chalk board tells when shrimp are expected when boat is out. If not, Shell Cove has a lot on hand. Last week, they only had large.Tails only there and price is about $7.98 a pound.
Other places have fresh shrimp also. I see the trucks along the road selling them too, but don't know who caught them.
I ate Love's shrimp and grits a couple of months ago and they were great.

Agreed but I live in Atlanta, isnt Fairhope in St. Simons? That is about 5 hours from me. My SIL lives there.BikerBob said:Hey JR Georgia is the best place to find fresh Wild Georgia Shrimp. I have a friend who lives on SSI. Last time we visited we went to Southern Soul BBQ and Barbara Jeans. Both quite good.JRWhitee said:

Next time you're there, load up on the day you leave. Get home and vac seal asap. Then freeze. I do this with off the boat shrimp out of Calabash, NC, when the trawlers float in on Little River. No different than eating them fresh, minus defrost time. Otherwise, I hit up a seafood market in Cherry Grove, SC for "just a few hours off of the boat" shrimp.JRWhitee said:

Thanks Buddy, heading to Tampa for the Outback bowl and will pick some on the way out. Good idea.Eggcelsior said:
