Sell by vs packing date on cyrovac beef

I know it’s best to know the packing date on cyrovac beef if you are going for max wet aging . But sometimes that just isn’t possible.
Is there any collation between sell date and packaging date .
If all you had was sell by date would you age any longer than this date ?

    Nothing exact that I know about.

    "Sell by" dates were initially nothing but in store reminders to move product before the next shipment came in. In the US, the only products w. dates that must be followed are baby foods. "Best if used by" is mostly a time where color texture and flavor have not deteriorated. Still OK to eat, but crummy.

    The only clear sign I know of that the meat is going bad is if the bag begins to expand (or is not tight at the start.) Expansion means rot. Poor seal means there is perhaps twice the usual 7 days in refrigeration before pitching, no guarantee.
