XL Adjustable rig combo, question?

Greetings hope all had a great thanksgiving.

So I am thinking about ordering this today. Question, will I be able to use my conveggtor (platesetter), or do you have to order a new styled one from them? Also, any experience or thoughts on this? Is it worth it? Nice to have? I often find myself needing more space and wanting to cook raised direct. Thanks in advance.

Yes, the XL AR can be used with the plate setter.

Quote from their site:

"The combo works with Big Green Egg's ConvEGGtor® and 24" grid for multi-grid, low & slow, BBQ cooks. Or, set the Rig with Grid(s) right on the fire ring for raised grid grilling cooks."

On the Large Egg, they don't claim that. Some here have been able to use the Large AR with the BGE plate setter, others have not been able to get it to fit. I have no idea why that would be.

If your xl egg is couple years old, yes, the xl rig can sit atop the conveggtor.

the xl egg design changed several years ago, so if you have an old xl egg, best to check our site to confirm capability. this does not work for the large egg.

I took an angle grinder and removed the vertical legs of my conveggtor to use with the AR. I like the extra surface area the conveggtor gives compared to the circular stone.
