Thanks for the link. I bought my Mini BGE platesetter for $15 last year after the coupon
* I noticed they have "Grills" in small print this year. I'm not sure if that includes accessories or what not

Our local ACE doesn’t stock BGE stuff, since there are 2 other stores that sell BGE within a couple of miles.

Ash production doesn't matter as much in the Webers and it's cheaper.blasting said:They/Them

Compare BTU/# though. May be cheaper, but there's about 40% less BTUs. That ash production is all the limestone. Not trying to say lump is the same or better value, but there's a reason briquettes are so cheap......cuz there's not much charcoal in them.DMW said: -
Agree, just trying to offer up an explanation. If you are running a cooker that is not as easy to control oxygen inflow (Weber), then fuel efficiency might not be as important.stlcharcoal said:

Ok, thanks for the explanation guys. I'll be sticking with lump in the kettles.

Tradition mainly. I pick up 4-5 two packs at Costco when they’re on sale for $14.99 during the summer and use it for my kettle cooks.DMW said:“There are three rules that I live by: never get less than twelve hours sleep; never play cards with a guy who has the same first name as a city; and never get involved with a woman with a tattoo of a dagger on her body.”

Same here. I would go take a pic of my garage overhead storage area, but it's cold out there.Hans61 said:They/Them

Back when I watched for sales on briqs, you could buy them for $0.10- $0.25/lb vs. $1+/lb for the "good" lump. That's still cheaper even at 60% of the BTU's of lump.DMW said:
