I’m using pecan this year. How many and Do you place in your egg as you’re bringing it up to temp or wait until it has reached desired temp?

use combo pecan/cherry and put in then lightSalado TX & 30A FL: Egg Family: 3 Large and a very well used Mini, added a Mini Max when they came out (I'm good for now). Just given a Mini to add to the herd.

I use about 3-4 chunks of pecan depending on their size. Don't over do it, as the bird will suck up the smoke.Morristown TN, LBGE and Mini-Max.

I’m doing a very small hickory chunk and two smaller apple chunks at light up. Looking for a little bit more smoke compared to last year when I just did peach and apple. We will see how she comes out! Happy cooking everyone

Plus using rockwood I don’t really get any smoke from lump alone do banking on the hickory to take the turkey where I want it.Sherryjames said:
