my first blue apron meal was a success! Pork chops with salsa verde, kale and potatoes. Looking forward to trying many more.

Enlighten me. I get how the take out crowd could benifit. How is this concept attractive to those who cook?Phoenix -
@blasting the appeal for me is simple. These are really awesome week night meals that allow for 1) portion control 2) make me try new things 3) avoids waste 4) saves money.blasting said:

i tend to cook comfort food, and too much of it. But now I can save that for the weekend if I want to.
all of the ingredients are fresh, and it’s all delivered right to my door for about $50 for three means a week for two people. -
What is a blue apron meal? A chop and some veggies are always a success. You sound surprised.
I hate it when I go to the kitchen for food and all I find are ingredients!

When the ingredients show up at your door from an unknown source lol thats why I was pleasantly surprised to find that all of it was so freshCarolina Q said:What is a blue apron meal? A chop and some veggies are always a success. You sound surprised. -

Cool. Anything that gets people back to cooking at home is a win in my books. Not up my alley, but I can certainly see the application.
Unfortunately, this is another one of those companies who want my email before they let me see what they're offering. no bueno.

Blue Apron seems very intetesting. Curious to see your long term satisfaction. I have been very tempted to try it.
I would rather light a candle than curse your darkness.

One of the you tubers I follow is sponsored by Blue Apron. The ingredients and finished products always looks appetizing.

I did Blue Apron for a few months. All of their recipes follow a theme. After you figure that out it's hard forget, and the recipes all seem to be too similar. Maybe it was just me!

My wife and I do Home Chef and HelloFresh. We pick one or the other for the upcoming week and go with it. Some weeks, we just use old recipe cards and get what we need from the store instead of ordering. It is a beautiful thing when you work all day and don't have to plan dinner. Been doing them for 2 years now. Some get a chance to get on the Egg, but most we just do in the kitchen on cast iron. Totally worth it - especially Asian dishes. Pics:

X2 for Hello Fresh. Wife started doing it about a month ago, and we have both been pleasantly surprised. Good fresh ingredients, and it forces you to mix up the regular old cooking routines.

We did Hello Fresh for awhile as well. Very pleased with the quality of food and the flavors. We stopped because my wife's travel schedule makes it hard for us to plan and it's a waste to make a meal for two just for me.
We stopped it for now but I highly recommend it.Philly - Kansas City - Houston - Cincinnati - Dallas - Houston - Memphis - Austin - Chicago - Austin

Having control of my own email domain, I create aliases as opposed to full throwaway accounts and then delete the alias after being used for this. -
I looked at BA, wasn't impressed. My son and DIL ordered from one of these services. some things were okay, others not so much. We do a lot of fresh (as is possible from most stores) foods without their help.
