XL Band Issue

So my band came off the bottom during a cook last night. I'm not sure the best way to go about fixing it. I'm thinking I may need to take it apart completely but not sure the easiest way to do that. Might be so bent I need a new band. Anybody have suggestions or had this problem before? Thanks in advance

No biggie. Loosen up the bottom band and slip it back on. Then go through the alignment process.

I'll try that. The issue happened because I couldn't close the lid, tried to force it that's when it slipped off.

My band was bent and I straightened it out with two pair of vice grips. Pull the springs off and and get it adjusted like you want.

Got it back on but it has about an inch gap in the back. Is there any difference adjusting the alignment on the XL vs other BGE? I can't find any specific to the XL. Thanks

I would go back to square 1.

Make sure you tighten the bolts until they bend. It appears you didn't have them tight enough.

Personally I would replace the factory bolts with some grade 8 hardware. Torque only to the recommended spec because they won't bend

The bolts won't bend or the band won't. The band is supposed to bend from the instructions I've seen. Thanks for the tips fellas.
