Flame Boss with Pit Viper Fan?

The last time I tried to use my Flame Boss 200, the fan that came with the unit wouldn't work.  I was interested in picking up the Pit Viper fan, since it appears to be more solidly made.  Are there any compatibility issues with this combination?

Thanks

It will work.  It will take the unit a little extra time to learn it every time you restart it because it's 10 CFM rather than 6.5 CFM.  Don't mess with the damper during the cook either, because it will screw with the logic in the FB.  The FB learns as it goes, and has the ability to vary the fan speed.  The DigiQ does not.....it's 100% on/off, so that's what the damper is for.

Did you call FB about the fan?  That's a warrantied item.

BTW, don't think for a second you're getting a much better fan by spending $100 on a Pit Viper & adapter.  It has the same style plastic CPU type fan, it just has some shiny metal around it and a different fitment/adapter.  FB just changed their fan a little bit......I haven't played with it, but I saw them in the box of two dozen 300's I just received.
