My wife and I hosted a dinner party this weekend for some friends who have never seen a Big Green Egg in action and have never tasted a meal created on the Big Green Egg.  We decided to go with one of our go to cooks, Bone in Crown Pork Roast.  We have made this dish several times and each time it seems to get better.  The recipe can be found here at http://www.biggreenegg.com/recipes/brined-pork-roast titled Brined Pork Roast.  I added a large chunk of apple wood to mix and it gave the perfect amount of smoke flavor.  The brine is fantastic and really amplifies the juiciness of the roast.  I also dialed the temp back to 250 indirect until the internal temp of the meat reached 140 before throwing back on for a quick sear to add some color to the fat.  I then let the roast sit for about 35-40 minutes before carving.

My wife also whipped up a fantastic batch of curried butternut squash soup which we accompanied with some homemade candied bacon.  This was a huge hit and really started off the meal with a bang.

Take a look at some of the pictures below and if you are ever looking to entertain 6-8 guests and not spend a ton of cash…..give this recipe a shot.  You get an awesome product that is equally as tasty as it is beautiful.

Needless to say, our guests who have never experienced the MAGIC of the Big Green Egg were blown away.  They are now considering in upgrading their lifestyle and happiness by purchasing an egg in the near future.
