Got my new base - replace now or later?

Week ago I was hosting a family-que and noticed steam coming out the bottom of my large bge. Found a crack from below the vent to halfway across the bottom of the base. Already got my new base yesterday (can't beat that lifetime warranty). Should I replace my base right away or milk some more use out of? My egg's not on a deck but it would stink to have it collapse at night while cooling down and set my lawn on fire or fall apart with a big ole brisket inside. The old base does look it'd make a nice fire pit.

i would change it out, dont see a reason not to. the crack will only get bigger and become a safety hazard

Why milk something when you get the replacements for free? That doesn't make sense to me.

Boy it sure is nice to have a level sitting PSWOO2 now. I always thought my fire ring or box was uneven. Turns out my cracked base was made unevenly! Now I just need the pump pliers for the overbite.

It's not like you only get one replacement so I can't see any scenario for not changing it out as soon as possible to do so. Now, if it's just procrastination that is a tune that I know.

Yeah procrastination's my middle name for sure. But now that I've changed it, man whatta difference. Just gotta get rid of that underbite.
