I plan on assembling and using my 2nd BGE, a medium this weekend, and I was just thinking, the air is thinner up at 6,000 feet elevation. I'm guessing this may slow down the lighting and heating up of the BGE and I will likely need to open the vents a little more than I'm used to at 400 feet elevation. Anyone have any comments/helpful hints for using an Egg at high elevations?

Theoretically, yes you would need more air flow because the air is less dense.
I'm at sea level so can't back that up with experience.

I've only ever egged at 'altitude' so I don't have a comparison, but I would say that the difference, if any, is negligible. You won't have to have the daisy wheel or the bottom vent open half way to keep it at 250...
I am however, able to maintain it at lower temps for a long time, say to smoke salmon pretty easily so maybe there is something to it. -

I live at just under 6000 ft elevation and would agree with @Spaightlabs the difference is negligible. I still find low and slows are maintained with the daisy and bottom vent about 1/4 inch open.Parker, Colorado
