Bouncing hot coals...

So, lovely evening in Maryland - setting up for a pizza cook - sipping my second scotch & soda with a twist (hey, it's summer!).  I left the vent screen open just to get the heat going a little quicker.  Out bounces a red-hot glowing coal onto my fancy new man-made decking material!  So, I grabbed my trusty wire bristle brush and swatted it off the deck - right into my fancy new hardwood mulch. Well, since I was only halfway through the second beverage, I only paused about 10 seconds before figuring I'd better get the watering can, rather than wait until a bigger issue arose.  I'll make a point of "watering" that spot several times as the evening progresses...

    Sh!t happens.

Anticipate that.  You can put a mat on the ground to protect the deck, or something you don't like as much as the man-made deck.

Gotta cipher the increase in air-flow with the screen open vs closed.  Maybe @Ozzie_Isaac  has the data somewhere.  Can't be enough to even deal with the issue from my perspective on an approaching LEO Friday night.  FWIW-
Louisville; Rolling smoke in the neighbourhood.  Life is too short for light/lite beer!  Seems I'm livin in a transitional period. CHEETO (aka Agent Orange) makes Nixon look like a saint.

I like the use of "cipher".

@lousubcap - nailed it and I don't care what Ozzie's research says.  I'm on a concrete slab patio and still keep my screen closed at all times.  Over cautious or parinoid ?   Doesn't matter as long as I have no fire at me casa

I definitely made it heart-shaped on purpose - it's our first night after delivering the princess unto University of Maryland.  To those keeping count - one follow-up watering...
