smokes from hinges

i have a bad smoke leak from the back of the egg around the hinge area an to the right, ive tried adjusting the hinges but this seems to make it worse. any help please

    cliff n york,
    the gasket can wear there. sometimes as the dome shuts, it rubs on the rear, under the hinge.[p]loosen the band bolts slightly (not truly 'loose'). then push the lower band down and tighten. then raise the upper band as high up as it'll go, against the rim of ceramic.[p]that should help. they get out of whack sometimes, but that's the 'official' installation
