Large egg in its new home - cooked steak

I reached a milestone in the kitchen and finally have both eggs in their new homes. My son came home for his birthday and I made him steak. My daughter was in as well - time for a feast.
We started the evening with some cheese and grilled dove breasts for appetizers. The cheese on the left was a hatch green chili cheddar. We really enjoyed that. These were washed down with bourbon slushies.

Here's a shot of where the eggs are placed. I cooked okra with bacon, onion, and tomatoes on the mini max. Cooking with the lid open I limited how much lump I put in the control the temp a bit better - that actually worked well.

The potatoes went in the oven.

Reverse sear on some grass fed prime NY strip steaks.

Finished the okra.

Seared the steaks.

The steaks came out just the way we like them - medium rare.

Here's a bad plated pic. The light outside isn't great for photos.

After dinner we sat outside telling stories and lies - great family fun. We killed three bottles of wine, some bourbon slushies, and several beers as well. I throw out this last pic - well - just because I like looking at the oven.

Large BGE & Mini Max for the wok. A few old camp Dutch ovens and a wood fired oven. LSG 24” cabinet offset smoker. There are a few paella pans and a Patagonia cross in the barn. A curing chamber for bacterial transformation of meats...
"Bourbon slushies. Sure you can cook on the BGE without them, but why would you?"

That fly photo-bombed that cheese shot. Nice looking outdoor kitchen. The meal looks fantastic, I'm sure a great time had by all. Thanks for sharing.

Congrats on the family get-together, the banquet and getting the BGE milestone in the books. What a set-up. You definitely have the oven mastered.
BTW- way to go with the one-handed cooking while managing the wine.Louisville; Rolling smoke in the neighbourhood. Life is too short for light/lite beer! Seems I'm livin in a transitional period. CHEETO (aka Agent Orange) makes Nixon look like a saint. -

@lousubcap Thanks. As for the pic... I was cooking and my daughter said "look happy" so I grabbed my glass of wine and kept cooking.Coleman, Texas

As an aside, my anniversary is the 16th and I'm wondering if you have a table for two?
