SousVide Supreme 11 Liter with Vacuum Sealer on Sale at Costco Through 8/2

I don't post often, but saw what appeared to be a pretty decent deal come through my inbox yesterday.

For $374.99, you get the 11 Liter SousVide Supreme, SousVide brand vacuum sealer, and some vac bags thrown in.  This looks to be $40 - $50 below the Amazon price for the SousVide alone, so may be worth checking into for anyone looking to get into this.

I have no affiliation with Costco or SousVide; just wanted to pass on what may be a decent deal.

Note that this appears to be for online purchase only, and the deal expires 8/2/17.

Edit: I have this model of the SousVide, but no experience with the vacuum sealer.  The machine has been great (I found mine at Goodwill), and I've had no reliability issues in the six months of owning it.

FWIW, SousVide Supreme is getting ready to introduce a new model and there will be a kickstarter deal for those who want to get in on it early. The new one (much improved from the already great current model) will sell for $599 but through the kickstarter campaign you'll be able to buy one the first ones for $249.

No connection. I've been a happy user of it for over five years and I recently got an email from them announcing this.

I have the Demi, which I bought for $150. Nice small footprint, easy to use.  Good for small meals, steaks, etc.

So it looks like they added a touch screen, wifi, double insulated walls, a clear top and Alexa control.  I don't know how I ever lived without any of those features!!!

What would have been nice (and I would have given up everything else new) is a recirculating system.

$375 is too much, even if that's cheaper than everywhere else.  If you're going to spend that kind of money, get a lightly used PolyScience Professional.  It will heat and recirculate 50 quarts, stores in an included case and if it should ever break, it's completely serviceable because it's a commercial appliance.

For a convenient counter sous vide, try this:

    https://www.amazon.com/Magic-Mill-Sous-Vide-Machine/dp/B01MRRGX15/ref=sr_1_8?s=kitchen&ie=UTF8&qid=1501280151&sr=1-8&keywords=sous+vide

Couple with an Anova and you have the flexibility of my Demi/Polyscience for less than $200.

The wifi, touchscreen, etc stuff is just completely ridiculous.  You generally only use 3 or 4 temperatures for everything you do and everything has a timer.

I have to agree with that. When my SVS finally dies I'll most likely replace it with either an Anova or a Joule.
