Concrete Countertop
What concrete mix is recommended for concrete counters for a new table? I'm having trouble determining which to use as there are different selections at both Lowe's and HD's by me. Here's what I've read so far....
Quikrete Profinish Concrete (cannot locate though)
Portland Concrete (to fill in holes)
Also, how many bags of concrete for a 18sq ft counter at 1.5" thick?

This article here indicates they used (3) 60# bags of concrete for a 12 sq. ft. section of counter top. Though their thickness could have been different. I tried to skim to see if they suggested a certain kind but I didn't see it. Good luck! I'm getting ready to do this myself very soon.

Too rich for my blood but I bet that will look fantastic. Make sure and post pictures of the finished product. I might steal some design cues. Good luck with the project!brock9281 said:After looking around I am leaning towards Sakrete 5000 Plus 80-lb Gray High Strength Concrete Mix -

Update on concrete countertop...
1 is a picture of the concrete poured and screed/troweled into mold(s)
2 is a picture of the countertop after 48hrs and sides of mold removed
3 is a picture of the egg base removed from moldNext steps will be to sand the tops, apply Portland cement where needed (bug holes), sand...sand...sand, seal...seal...seal and apply a wax.

Did you vibrate the form with a sander or anything to get the bubbles out?

Used a rubber mallet on sides and underneath. Not sure what the large piece looks like yet bc it hasn't been flipped but the smaller piece has minimal holesAtlanta, GA
