Mom gave me a Himalayan Salt Block for my birthday a few weeks ago. Decided to give it a test drive tonight with some burgers and a cheap cut of steak.i was pretty impressed with the crust on the burgers and the flavour was incredible!
i thinly sliced the steak and kept it for another day (fajitas or philly cheese steak).
I will do this again.

Interesting. How do you clean it for the next cook? Like if you want to do a piece of fish. My girls gave me one years ago. Still in the package.

I don't know. my plan is turn it upside down next time and keep alternating sides for every cook. Maybe give it a scrape every once in a while.St Marys, Ontario, Canada LBGE

LOL. That was my first thought.

Go upside down next and clean by scraping. Avoid water when you can. Cooks look good. Always stick with bigger proteins. Very nice cook.Sandy Springs & Dawsonville Ga

How long did you preheat the block, to get that char?"Dumplings are just noodles that have already eaten" - Jon Kung

looks delicious, nice work.
i'm not as delicate with the block as @bgebrent - when it gets really scuzzy, i find it cleans off really well under warm water. you lose a bit of salt but all the gunk rinses right off and the block is like new again:
