Shipping costs to israel

i am thinking about purchasing an extra large BGE for my niece in israel as it is not sold in that country.I visited a true value store in miami that is an authorized dealer who had a promotion for the extra large BGE for $1699 icluding 9 accessories for a purported savings of $272.82.My question is who do the members in this forum recommend shipping the 219 pound extra large BGE to israel, with possibly another 20 lbs of accessories?Would anyone know the costs?I tried breaking through to the corporate office at 3 different phone numbers, but couldn't get a human to answer a call. Will the cost be prohibitive. My niece doesnt need it right away,so by ship instead of air is best to keep shipping cost down.Thank you in advance for responding to my email.Travlnmike@hotmail.com

Maybe not an option but I would vote for moving her closer to the egg rather than moving the egg to her.Snellville, GA

No idea how to answer your question, but I'm sure it will be expensive.
What accessories are part of the promotion? My view is, never buy any accessories until you have used the egg for a while and discover what you may need. Also, most of the most favored accessories people buy are not BGE products anyway. They are aftermarket 3rd party items.
Always wary of promotional stuff. Some guy posted yesterday (or so) about the "Deal" he was considering... for $100, he could get a platesetter, ash tool, grid lifter and a bag of lump. That's no deal! Three of those are always included with every egg sold!
Eggs are nice grills. But between the price of an XL and the cost to ship it halfway around the world... well, they aren't THAT nice!I hate it when I go to the kitchen for food and all I find are ingredients!

You might be better off buying from a dealer overseas that is a lot closer to Israel to shave shipping charges.
-
you can always call someone that ships and ask them - like UPS. IIRC, UPS will charge based on weight+box dimensions. If you live near a port, you can call some of the shippers there.
-
Buy a Primo. Here's an in country dealer.

BGE has dealers in Cyprus.
I'm sure you could find someone to put one on a speedboat and take it to Israel.“Reality is that which, when you stop believing in it, doesn't go away.” ― Philip K. Diçk -
Shipping a heavy, potentially fragile piece of freight over seas, and having it delivered by FedEx, UPS, is a recipe for disaster. Better to find a product offered by a local distributer.

Even if you find a way to ship it, customs duties would probably be exhorbitant. Just for asking the question you win uncle of the year though.

Thanks for all the advice- doesn't look too encouraging!I may have to rethink my strategy.

The Primo XL is a nice grill. I'd give it serious consideration as there will be local dealer support.

I wouldn't recommend an egg be shipped in any country that does not have a dealer.
Something is going to crack at some point. A warranty claim or a replacement part wouldn't be any fun to deal with.
I've been exploring the other way around, I want a Honda riding mower. They are not available in the USA anymore. I can get one shipped from the UK
I think. But parts and warranty would be trouble.
In eggs and mowers, the availability of parts and service is of paramount importance. -
