Introducing The New Owners of the Chicken Ranch

The soon to be owners of the Chicken Ranch came by yesterday to look at some of the items we have for sale.  It was our first meeting.

We like them a lot and wish we had met them years ago. I think they will do our house proud.

The actual 'closing' is not for a few days but we all agreed that a walkabout would be good if for no other reason than to point out where things were.

I had made some drawings of underground wiring and plumbing and even an extensive French Drain network, but it's better to point-and-show than use a drawing. They appreciated doing it that way.

I also fired up a Large Egg, formerly named Lulu Large, to cook some Magnum Loads so that they could both see and taste food cooked on the Egg.  I had already given them the Mini Egg as a goodwill gift to make them Eggheads, but they called later wanting to purchase the large Egg and some other items.

So they will start out as Newby Eggheads who admittedly have a lot to learn.  But they will begin by watching some YouTube videos and participating in the forums.

I have a feeling they will enjoy being Eggheads.

We urged them to select 'handles' for themselves, but for now they are Larry and Sheryl.

I know you guys will welcome them with open arms and help with their questions, just like y'all helped us to enjoy the Big Green Egg more than we ever could on our own.

Egghead neighbors Tom (Lucky Mon) and Pam (Lucky WoMon) will also be assisting them as needed.

Yes, they got the Coop Tour, with the "I've Been To The Coop" token, and our card which will be outdated in a couple of weeks.

We're still packing but as of now, we're down from 6 'Girls' to just 3 'Girls' - Lola Large, Shirley Small and Mini-Maxine.  And they are definitely EGGcited about the new EGGventure in Covington.

Larry and Sheryl, you are among friends here.  Take full advantage of their friendship and help.  We did and we're better for it.

Thanks again everyone.

Let's just say they liked it when I turned it on to show that Lulu was working.

the only helpful hint i got from the prior owner was dont stand on the metal carpet strip when turning the light on =)=) ive only done that a couple times in the last twenty years ;) wish i got the full list, theres a sewer lift pump out there somewhere that needs to be checked and it takes a pick axe to dig out there, already tried the metal detector, divining rods next

You did mention that there is a possibility that Eggheads will show up from time to time without notice!!

Can't think of anyone who'd be better to buy a house from.
