Rubber caps on nest melting

Hey everyone, I am getting ready to purchase a large egg and had a question regarding the nest. Are people still having issues with the caps on the nest melting to their egg? I saw some forum posts from 4 years ago regarding this, but nothing recent at all. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated!

Then end up slipping off somehow. No reall reason to have them or to be concerned. Most guys here have their eggs in tables anyway.
  • One of my Larges has them on, one is off.

No melting. But as said above, my old one is missing all of them. No idea why.

My large is in a nest for a little over a year and yes the caps are melted to the egg. I will be moving it out of the nest into a limestone counter space. I guess I'll cut it loose from the nest.
I think it goes with the OP's question - anyone have advice for getting the melted rubber off the egg without harming the glaze?

I took them off of my XL nest. They serve no real purpose.

My egg didn't come with them. Been fine since 2009. Stupid idea. I think they were created by the same guy who came up with the Conveggtor. If he hasn't been fired, he should have been.

    We do?

I hate it when I go to the kitchen for food and all I find are ingredients!

Much more important if getting nest (have both my Larges in Nests & Handlers) is to get a Handler as well. So much more safe to move it around. I like the Nests but would not have one w/o a Handler.

I kind of know what/how to move an Egg around (lots of years and lots of Fests).
    This one no Handler.

    Ah... lawyer speak. =)

    Regardless, I doubt it.

Thanks for all the responses everyone, I couldn't believe the amount of comments that came in so quickly! This forum is great! So is it safe to say if you leave them off, it won't mar the finish of the egg when you put it in the nest? I plan on building a table at some point.

@CHERNOBLY be careful what you wish for! Lol all those comments will bite you! Like @Carolina Q ripping me for my generalization lol

all jokes aside, all the guys and gals on here are really great people and generally what to help (and spend your money)

just leave the rubber pieces on the stand, when you put it in, but don't sweat it if they fall off eventually.

I had mine on a stand for about a day lol, mostly because I have two boxers that would love nothing more than to tip it over just to watch it burn
