Got a new XL... Some thoughts...
1. Feels super "wobbly" opening/closing.. Izzat normal or am I paranoid?
2. Platesetter weighs 408 lbs.
3. Super excited to get a few huge Cooks going.
4. This pig must take alot of lump.
Already ordered a full adjustable rig setup, kick ash basket from CGS. #moneydrain
Do I need to put something between the table nest and the table?

Don't let the size fool you. It holds a lot of lump, for sure.
But frugal if the operator uses it wisely.
I did a 14# brisket, 12 hours, then baby backs, 6 hours
and then a Tri-tip, reverse sear, on the same load of lump.
Drop a couple fire bricks in there and 2 zone cooks are a breeze.XL BGE, 22" Weber Red Head, Fiesta Gasser .... Peoria,AZ -

You will love it. Did you get the AR woo combo?“There are three rules that I live by: never get less than twelve hours sleep; never play cards with a guy who has the same first name as a city; and never get involved with a woman with a tattoo of a dagger on her body.”

Easily get 24 hours out of a load of lump at 250 degrees, maybe more.

Shouldn't be wobbly. Mine was rock solid.

You better tighten those band bolts my friend. They should be bent. Keep turnin' em.

@250 deg, the XL will burn roughly 0.4lbs/hr
Don't tell your problems to people. 80% of people don't care and 20% are glad you have them.

Wobbly, no. Bit of flex, yes. Platesetter works well on the XL. Enjoy the cooking area!

They don't seem far off, here's mine, never moved. Are all of the other fixings secure?

My 0.02: Tighten the bands more, they may not have moved yet but if they do, catastrophy... A dropped lid due to loose bands is not warrantied.Large BGE - McDonald, PA

According to the assemble docs, the bolts should be tightened using a torque wrench to 120inch/lbs. or 10ft/lbs

Beyond pissed right now. Just got home and checked and half the bolts were literally hand tight if not just finger tight. Tightened them up and it is much better. One of the bolts attached to the spring almost fell off when I touched it. Hate to say it but you would think that the guys I bought three eggs from in 12 months might. Shame on me for not checking . grrrrr.BGE L, Minimax, iGrill 2, Kick Ash Basket, CGS AR, various and sundry overpriced accessories...
