Fire Ring

Last night I was cleaning my egg out from my long smoke this past weekend. Notice a nice crack in my ring. I've had this egg for quite some time. Is that worth a try at warranty replacement?

All the ceramic pieces, Base, Dome, Fire Ring and Fire Box have a lifetime replacement warranty if you are the original owner.
    Thank you,

As Photo Egg said - yes that is a warranty item, but your ring with a crack is still very useable. All the crack means is the heretofore pent up stress has now been relieved.

Doesn't hurt, will just take up space in the garage until you change it.

LOL - I too have a little bit of a storage issue, or at least I used to before I decided to ONLY save the brand new replacement parts. For several years I had 3 generation of parts on hand. Now once I have decided to finally trash the old broken part I then throw it away! Then I only store the brand new replacement part. Right now my replacement inventory on hand is merely one fire box for my small and one fire ring for my large. Never mind that I actually have yet another spare fire ring down in my basement...that doesn't count does it toward a hoarding issue since you were only asking about garage storage... =);)B)

I think around 2012 they started putting notches in the fire ring for the plate setter legs.  If it is older than that it might be worth the effort to get the newer model.  The plate setter sits a little lower giving you more vertical space for a raised grid.

Which came first the chicken or the egg?  I egged the chicken and then I ate his leg.
