Favorite pan for use on MM?

Hi all,
Apologies for deluge on the forum today-- have a few disparate questions. Figure separate threads is the way to go
My question: is there a favored pan for roasting vegetables for use on minimax? I see these ones... Wonder if they will work... Especially if I rig up a raised grid (my other thread)

I have one similar to this round basket and really like it. I use it in my small all the time but it's a little deeper than the MM.
So much nicer to just flip it over or shake it up, opposed to flipping things over in a one sided tray.

Thanks for reply, @Photo Egg . Did you cut the handle off?
-
No I kept the handle on. On my Small I can close the dome over the basket and leave the handle stick out. I don't think the MM has the depth unless you pull out the cooking grate. But I do cook with the dome open most of the time and just close the lower vent to keep the fire under control when i use the basket.Sirk98 said:Thanks for reply, @Photo Egg . interesting. I thought cooking with dome open is not recommended (at least on my XL)-- fire gets up to warp 10 with all that air... no? I am a newbie still

Closing the lower vent help keep the temps under control. The large mesh Wok full of veggies also limits the airflow with the MM or the Small BGE.Sirk98 said:interesting. On my XL, there is plenty of room and space and I close the dome and leave the handle sticking out. Different strategies for different sized Eggs.

I bought one of these, it's a 12" basket with a lid and removable handle. They seem to be discontinued, so I had to grab one from ebay (brand new ones still on there).
I have a small and can close the dome on the handle nub. I can fully close the dome when using it on my large.
I just got it this spring, very happy so far. Have used it for chicken wings, potato wedges, and just grilled some asparagus in it last night (on the small).

Here is photo of the hinged basket with one side removed in the Small BGE.
For the XL, if you can find one, the Weber 22" wok works great. Made a giant batch of ABT dip in no time.

I saw these at Sam's last time in. My interest was more campfire cooking and not my small, but I may have to grab one for the grill tote.
They look like a PITA to clean, so I would treat like CI...a quick scrub with hot water, carry on and call it seasoned.

Also, what do you have it set on? just the grill grate work?

Just bastardised an old Le Creuset that was lurking in the back of a cupboard. Should work OK as a 'free' solution.

My brand new still in original box blue one for $50, is my favorite saucepan because of that spout, really comes in handy. I couldn't even sell that lone white lid I got in a package vintage LC deal, removed it off my table during a garage sale.Eoin said:Just bastardised an old Le Creuset that was lurking in the back of a cupboard. But hey, it was free to you, hack away.
I found an uncollectible 1891 Anniversary Wagner griddle for $10. Clipped it too for the small and pan pizzas.

I've got lots of these pans, more common here than in the US, I imagine, and not worth much when worn.Focker said:

I have it on something similar to a Spider from Ceramic Grill Store.Sirk98 said:@Photo Egg.. is this the wok?

Here is a link to what I have. It's no longer sold by Weber in the US.
It's stainless steel. They also make a smaller one that fits the Large BGE.

Agree about the cleaning part. The mesh on mine looks very similar to your link. When I can, I toss in back on the Egg after I use it and let it burn clean. Not a high temp burn, just whatever I was cooking at. Then after we eat I pull it out and shut down the Egg and hang it back up in the garage.Focker said:I saw these at Sam's last time in.
