Gander Mountain Closing

Stopped at Gander Mountian today in Augusta, Ga to find that the store is closing and all merchandise is on sale, some up to 40% off but most 10-20% off. I bought a 7.5 inch meat slicer. If you live close to a store it might benefit you to go check them out.

    Says everything... http://www.gandermountain.com

Looks like you have to go to a store though. Website doesn't seem to do anything.

I hate it when I go to the kitchen for food and all I find are ingredients!

I've been calling around and they don't have any Alaskans. I wonder why no one wants a snub nosed .454 Casull  ;)

The one in Hattiesburg MS is closing for two weeks for a light remodel. It averages 15% off but I can probably do better at Academy Sport a mile down the road.

I'm not really shocked, Gander sucks.
Will stop by the store here to look for any deals, thanks for the heads up.

They guy at the register said that the store will reopen but will be a Camping World store/dealer. They even had prices on the shelves and clothes racks at the store in Augusta.

My local, longtime, Jayco RV dealers were bought out by CW recently.

One of my friends is the shop foreman, has worked at this place for a long time.  He, and all staff, have not been happy since the buyout.  Things have gotten much worse since big corporate took control, felt bad for them, it's a great dealer with great peeps.

Everything is currently on sale. They have a pretty good selection of grinders, slicers, and sausage stuffers. I also bought a pack of LEM maple bacon cure to try out. Anyone ever used this?

That has happened sooo often in my life, in almost all the jobs I have had.

I would love to grab a grinder at a discount, but my concern is finding parts years down the road? Are there comparable grinders or rebrands that we can get parts later on from?

On a side note, has anyone ordered from Bud's online? I found an Alaskan at a decent price.

You've also heard why they choose Cal. round and why they file the front sight flat when its used for a back up on a Brown Bear hunt in Alaska right??

Yeah, I've never liked Gander Mountain. Ours is under stocked and over priced. I will stop in next weekend and check for any deals though.

Buds is legit, bought an AR15 there once, smooth transaction. Just need a local FFL to handle the transfer.

    Nice anus joke. Lol.

For those playing at home, the joke is that you file the front sight down so it doesn't hurt as bad when the grizz shoves that pistol up your azz.

Gander sale prices are equivalent to Academy's regular prices. Shop around before you buy.

    Technically it's the liquidators pricing...
  • Our Gander is at 30% off. I bought a rod on Amazon and was still cheaper than Gander's sale price. Way over priced!

I bought an 8foot Ugly Stick spinning reel combo and one of those expensive Columbia zip ups that are water and wind proof. Also got a bright color long sleeve tee for bike riding. The jack would normally be $110 was marked down to $69.99 the 40% off. Not bad but I would have been disappointed if I had been after guns, only 15% off.
