One of my very favorite things is when ramps come, in the spring.  I like to grill them with a little olive oil, salt and pepper.  Or saute in a cast iron pan and serve with eggs in the morning.

Brother Blind.....I have to go with rolling in the sac with your lady....but those look outstanding. Never had them myself.

@northgacock damn brother, I've been working a lot, you been sneaking in the back door while I'm gone?   (I should never trust a guy with "****" in his handle!)

Never a roll in the hay with Mrs. Blind or never any ramps?

I would rather light a candle than curse your darkness.

I have never tried ramps.  However, both of my parents were raised in the mountains of North Carolina. Both have told me about eating them regularly when they were young.  Its looks like I'll be making a trip to purchase ramps this weekend to try with several pork chops.

Can you buy Ramps commercially or do you have to rummage thru the woods for them.  BTW my fav grilled veggie is asparagus
@thetrim I buy them. If you forage them it's important not to take out too many or they can't regrow. I think it's one of those weird plants that is really hard or impossible to grow or plant yourself. Can't beat nature!
Do you buy them at a specialty grocery?   Somewhere else?   Not sure if they're available in my area (Tampa bay)

@thetrim Whole Foods has been most consistent about getting them in, but I've found them randomly at other grocers too. You may have to ask a few people at the store because even at Whole Foods some of the produce staff don't know about them. Theyre worth looking for though, good luck!
