Seafood weekend

I was planning on a full weekend of grilled seafood for this past weekend.  It didn't work out quite like I planned but it was tasty nevertheless.

Started with a meal for one on Friday: Alaskan sockeye with a side of garlic & parmesan zucchini "noodles":

I had planned on making a run to the fish market in Minneapolis on Saturday morning but I wound up in the ER with an eye injury instead.  By the time I got home I had to improvise and source everything from the freezer & local grocery store.

Since my brother & dad hadn't tried grilled calamari before, I repeated that from a recent cook.  (Sorry there aren't finished pictures - it goes quick so I was busy).  Olive oil & salt & grilled at 450 degrees until it showed some color.

And finally I'm a newbie when it comes to oysters.  I've had them fried but never bought or prepared them in any fashion by myself.  I had done enough research to know what I wanted from the fish market but I had to settle for some west coast oysters from the local grocery store.

Grilled direct at 400 degrees with some lemon, butter, hot sauce & parmesan cheese:

And sadly, besides the one I tried raw, that constituted all the entire oyster inventory at the store  :(

This was all good but not the variety I had hoped for when I had a full seafood weekend in mind.  Perhaps that's what I get for living in the Midwest.  I guess I'll have to make my next trip worthwhile and go for it.  Octopus perhaps?  More oysters, that's for sure.

Thanks for looking!
