XL Big Green Egg Pricing

I am in the market for a new sized Big Green Egg and I am leaning towards an XL Big Green Egg. After checking the prices at two local stores and noticing a price difference I am curious as to how much members were able to get their XL Big Green Egg for.

Welcome.  Not to scare you off, but you are going to look back and laugh at the price difference you are now wondering about.  We all do it, but it's the hobby that follows that is expensive.  Very soon, things you didn't know existed will become necessities.

Good call on the XL by the way.

  • I own a large Egg so I know the hobby can definitely be expensive. I was just shocked to see the price difference on the XL from store to store.

I'd pick a L unless you routinely cook for more than 4-6 people.  I love my XL but its in the rotation 1 out of 10 times.  Depends on your needs.

I can't remember what I paid for sure. 1200 for the egg plus nest, egg mates, and plate setter came to around 1500 I think

your best deal deal would be to go to an egg fest and buy a demo XL

I got mine at an eggfest for $800. I think with all the other stuff I got it was $900.00

Great call on the XL! I agree with trying to get one at a local eggfest or buying a demo from a local dealer, they are typically discounted 15-20%.

I was socked at pricing when I started looking not at the cost of the XL BGE but at what different stores charge.  I was seeing $350-$400 difference in package prices from store to store.  I talked to 5 different dealers and all would negotiate but I ended up going with the dealer that offered the best process up front and said if I could get a better deal they would beat it by $50 and give me a $100 gift card.  This dealer was also recommended by everyone in my area that I know that has a BGE.  My price before tax on an XL, ash tool, plate setter, grid gripper, starters, bag of charcoal, and nest (upgraded to a custom steel car they had for no extra charge) was $1299

I am about to sell my A.T.E. XL. A.T.E. stands for All Terrain Egg. It is mounted in a modified custom nest that you can literally go anywhere with without worries of tipping over. It has 8" rubber tire casters on it. It has been to the National BBQ championship as well as the World BBQ championships (K.C.B.S. Royal out in Kansas City and the Jack in Lynchburg TN.) I have a plate setter and a few other things laying around that I would throw in. Currently I have an offer for $850 but if any EGG person wants it I will sell it to them first.

I purchased my XL almost a year ago to the day.. paid 1490 and it included, the placesetter, XL acaia table with casters, table nest, cover, ash tool, ash pan, delivery and setup.  They brought a bag of BGE lump when the delivered the beast.  Then I joined this forum and must have spent at least that much on the “must have” accessories from smokeware, kickash, CGS, not to mention a Sous Vide, and a Blackstone griddle...

$900 for my XL. Always get the largest size you can afford. You can always scale down. You can't scale up near as easy if at all.

I paid $1250.00 for my XL with nest, shelves, plate setter, clean out tool, grate lifter, Charcoal, Assembled and delivered. It was $100 more than a large with the same stuff.
I drink cheap beer so I can afford good bourbon.
