Blasting's setup is a solid option.
Thats what hat I was going to do before I decided to leave it in the garage and just open the doors to vent."Brought to you by bourbon, bacon, and a series of questionable life decisions."

@Killit_and_Grillit, the manual for my 17" BS says...Killit_and_Grillit said:Blasting's setup is a solid option.

"This appliance shall be used only outdoors, and shall not be used in a building, garage, or any other enclosed area."
Seems like it ought to be okay with doors open, but I just thought I'd mention it. CO is nasty stuff!I hate it when I go to the kitchen for food and all I find are ingredients!

I weighed the options and went with using the garage like above.... if we are having a group over it is easy enough to move to the deck outside... but day in day out the garage keeps BS in great shape...Charlotte, NC - Large BGE 2014, Maverick ET 733, Thermopen, Nest, Platesetter, Woo2 and Extender w/Grid, Kick Ash Basket, Pizza Stone, SS Smokeware Cap, Blackstone 36"

I have the Walmart cover also. But it is under a roof on the front deck and the cover mainly keeps of dust and a little blowing rain. Working good so far
-
@Carolina Q I have doors directly across from each other and a fan to blow anything out and it sits right next to door. (Also I have a CO monitor in my garage...not the only thing floating around in there)
When the weather is nice I push it outside. But if it's raining I roll the dice...
I appreciate the concern though!"Brought to you by bourbon, bacon, and a series of questionable life decisions."

Got this Blackstone branded cover from Walmart. Works really great! I put an empty gallon milk jug on the griddle top under the cover to give it some pitch for drainage.

Have the Blackstone against the house under a slight overhang. So far no problems with water penetration. 6 months or so.

You might want to give that some thought. @Little Steven's fire was caused by a gasser on the deck (not sure exactly how). The eggs were fine. The gasser and the house, not so much. Note "slight overhang". @stv8rstv8r said:

@Carolina Q. I do want to clarify my earlier comment... I chose to store in garage to keep it waterproof and out of weather. I am able to roll it out of the door for cooking. The beauty of cooking on the BS is how quick they are especially when it's just for the two of us. It is easy enough to move to the deck when required for larger group. Your warning of not cooking in an enclosed area should be considered strongly....Charlotte, NC - Large BGE 2014, Maverick ET 733, Thermopen, Nest, Platesetter, Woo2 and Extender w/Grid, Kick Ash Basket, Pizza Stone, SS Smokeware Cap, Blackstone 36"

Ordered this one on Amazon: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01MFFSNK6/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
It's supposed to rain pretty good tonight, so it will get a workout.
