At the contest this weekend in Princeton, Wisconsin I didn't bring my usual trailer full of equipment.[p]I cooked on one large and one medium egg. One brisket on the large and one 9.5 lb butt on the medium. Three slabs of ribs went on the large when the brisket was done and 12 thighs went on the medium when the butt came off. The eggs were kept pretty busy. I used one bag of charcoal and there was some leftover.
So while I can't really imagine doing it on one egg, two is very realistic. You just have to put the brisket and butt on early to make sure they get off early.[p]BTW I was the Grand Champion. Maybe I should cook that way all the time.

drbbq,
Congratulations Ray!![p]Awesome job. Good time to start a roll don't you think?
-
drbbq,[p]You know, I have never competed in any food related competition, mostly cause I'm scared. Also, because I know I don't have the right equipment. I think you may have changed that thought process for me. I am one egg away from having all the equipment that you used in this competition. Plus, you publish all your winning recipes, silly man!!! I think I could do it. Na still too scared. LOL[p]Congratulations Ray.[p]E

You failed to mention an important peice of information, how may adult beverages did it require? Someday I may get the nerve to try in an amature division, but ...... Since I have never tried to move my BGE, is there a location that will show how to pack it? I would sit and cry if I broke my baby. BTW Congrats. :P

Way to go, Ray. See you soon.

drbbq,[p]Great showing. Just goes to show that size doesn't always matter! I think top 10 is always a good showing GC on a large and a medium is awesome![p]Smokey

dhuffjr,Jus-Fer-Fun is the name of my wife and I's team. I started it several years ago after another friend I was helping decided to not do competition cooking any more. I told folks we were cooking to win but having fun was our game. I got a little more involve in copetitions and my wife started helping a few years back. Go ahead and give a try. Maybe start out like I did in some backyard contests. You might surprise yourself. We sure have been a time or two.[p]Go try it and have some fun, meet a great crowd of folks, learn some new ideas and tricks, but be careful it can become overpowering and addictive!!![p]Good Cookin'
