i want to do a vertical roast chicken tonight (sorta like beer can). i also want to do indirect. it's about a 4 pound bird, and it's been drying in the fridge overnight.[p]i was gonna rub it down with olive oil, salt and pepper, etc. i just don't know what temp to do indirect or for how long. any advice would be great.[p]

George,
Indirect 350F for about an hour, until the thigh juices run clear.

George,
Mine usually go for about 1 to 1.5 hours at 350. These are set on a beer can type holder, but also work with the wire verticle roaster rack. I use a drip pan.

George,[p]The link below will take you to Mad Mad From Eggdome's vertical chicken recipe. It uses high temps and results in the best roast chicken I have ever tasted.
