My wife just text me this picture. Major design change from the old cooler.  ;)

Looks like RTIC gave Yeti and the Judge the middle finger...

They had this little bit of info on their FB page yesterday:

"RTIC is excited about the new & improved cooler designs. The new coolers now have 2 drain plugs. The 2nd drain plug is bigger than the other, allowing for fast draining. The Style line changed to a rounded rectangle giving a more sleek design. The bear locks have an improved protective design. The area below the handle was removed making opening / lifting the lid easier. The prices will remain the same as we are staying true to our promise to deliver Over Built Products - Not Over Priced Premium Products"

Got to love competitive pricing! I don't see how yeti can keep their higher price point. People are just buying the name now

I figured out how to make my RTIC 65 perform the same as a Yeti Tundra 65 - take the two $100 dollar bills I saved by buying the RTIC and light them on fire and put them in my Egg to start the lump.

Did they mention anything on warranty? More than 30 days?

Looks like they did just enough to satisfy the patent infringement.  Well played RTIC.

I like my yeti. I own both. Yeti 45 and hopper 30. Rtic 20 and Softpak 30. Yeti does not have any blemishes compaired to Rtic. Biggest issue I have with Rtic is their warranty. When I bought my cooler it was for 2 years if I remember correctly. Now it's 30 days.

With just 2 bills that would be hard .. plus US currency is made to be fire retardant ... now Canadian money I heard goes up like leafs in fall.

    Yeti 65 $400 5 year warranty
    Yeti 75 $450 5 year warranty
    RTIC 65 $200 If they offer a warranty, I couldn't find it.
    Ozark Trail 73 $194 5 year warranty
    Ozark Trail 52 $147 5 year warranty

Every so often, I think about the Walmart 52. Then I remember I still have my $15 Igloo from the 70s. The latch has been broken for many years, but that's what duct tape is for.

I hate it when I go to the kitchen for food and all I find are ingredients!

I have a wheeled Igloo that I have had for at least 15 years.  I replaced that latch every year until I found this.

Obviously, you actually USE a cooler. When I need one, I need one, but that doesn't happen very often. And never for an extended time. When I occasionally need a cooler, I just need one that doesn't leak melted ice water.

Saw a brilliant design flaw hack to put a nylon strap behind the hinges on the Igloos to reinforce, then screw the hinges through it.
