Welp, ya won't be able to use ketchup, honey or molasses...all of the recipes I've seen still call for artificial sweeteners, and depending upon why you are looking for sugar free that may not be acceptable as artificial sweeteners cause the same metabolic response as sugar...

If you need to use an artificial sweetener, Stevia is probably the best of the worst, though still not good...

I've just learned to enjoy all of my Q without sauce.

    Good luck on your quest.

    To your health!

The Skylight Inn uses a mix of Texas Pete and apple cider vinegar. Guessing at 60% ACV. No sugar in either ingredient. Good stuff on pork. It's what I use when I'm feeling lazy.

Every other recipe I have contains sugar.

I hate it when I go to the kitchen for food and all I find are ingredients!

Well, the label on Texas Pete says Sugar 0%. However, it contains xanthan gum so I looked it up. Saw words like sucrose and glucose. My eyes glazed over so I'll let you figure it out. =) If it's a problem, maybe there's a similar hot sauce, like Frank's maybe, that would suit.

I use this as my house BBQ sauce the wife likes it. I have, and do often, substitute the brown sugar for stevia or whatever that stuff in the yellow package is. I also found a Kroger brand ketchup that is 50% less sugar. Those two things go a long way in cutting the true sugars.

P.S. Don't mind the dirty stove. It got a work out that day.

If you find any sauce recipes that call for ketchup, this might help. It's a good recipe for Heinz and it has no high fructose corn syrup. I usually don't bother, but I've made it a few times. Hard to tell the difference. It calls for 1/2 cup corn syrup, but I use honey. Also a Tbls of granulated sugar, but you could probably just use a little more honey or even leave it out. Or use one of the fake sugars, but they're supposed to be worse for you than the real thing. Read some of the comments at the bottom for mods people have made.

Just start with a "regular" bbq sauce recipe and leave out the added sugar.

You'll get used to it. :)
