Ropa Vieja in DO

Kind of OT, not done in the egg, but it was so good I had to share.

I never made cuban food at home, so I tried it in the DO on the stove. Delicious. Cell phone pics don't do it justice.

Used 4lbs of chuck roast

    Looks delicious!!!  One of my favorites.  When I lived in Miami I used to get ropa vieja at least once a week for lunch.  I've gotta try that.

    Beautiful!! Reminds me of @Austin Eggheads recipe for Carne Guisada, but this one has far more ingredients. The look is similar though. If this is anywhere near as good as hers, I've got to try it. And the black beans and rice look perfect with this!

    BTW, the "note" at the end of this recipe says you can sub chicken for beef. I've done that with the carne guisada and it is every bit as good.

    I hate it when I go to the kitchen for food and all I find are ingredients!
