OT...space flight

I have always loved the idea of space travel and was really into all things "NASA" when I was a kid.
This article kinda brings into the light some reality of wanting to jump into a rocket and go for a ride.

That's the true reality.  Good read-thanks.
BTW-I have no problem reaching Low Earth Orbit (LEO) whenever I decide to heavily medicate with adult supervisory beverages. If desired, escape velocity is also out there.  =)

For an even bigger eye opener, read the book "Packing for Mars". Some things are better unknown.

Gravity may be a b!tch at times but we really didn't evolve to live without it.

I think going into LEO and doing a few loops around the earth while staring out a window then coming back to the surface a few hours later would be a great experience. Spending days/weeks/months in space - not as much fun (at least physically).

Neat thing is that because of time dilation you will come back aging a little less than @HeavyG did here on Earth!

I rode the space shuttle thing at Epcot and I'm not sure I would be a good candidate for going to space.

No interest in space travel at all. I've never even watched Apollo 13. =)

I hate it when I go to the kitchen for food and all I find are ingredients!
