Beef Stew

Decided to make some beef stew to beat the winter blues. Been experimenting with cooking with some Jack Daniels (JD) with success so added here also.
Got the Mini Max fired up with the Dutch Oven to brown the meat:

While this was going on the Large was waiting patiently:

Once the meat was done, browned the onions, celery, garlic. When that was browned added about 1/4 cup + a little more to finish the bottle of JD. Let that go for approx. 10 minutes:

The Mini Max is done, added the pot to the large with JD Chips in it. Those frozen cubes are home made vegetable broth (low sodium and so much better than store). Added potatoes, turnip, Brussels sprouts, and carrots.

Few hours later, looking good:

Off to the bakery to get some crusty bread, sample taste and it tasted great but stew is always better the next day.
Made JD beans a few weeks ago and they where excellent. My favorite drink is 'Forty Creek', but sure love cooking with JD, except for my BBQ sauce which is made with Forty Creek.
Thanks for looking.
