Smoked Sausage Grits & Tots Bisque
Spring Chicken
Posts: 10,255
Yes, it's me again. And I've been busy.
This isn't a meal for 'diet-sissies' but it could easily be a dead-man-walking's last meal request. Yes, it's that good.
It all started when I smoked some Jimmy Dean Hot Sausage. I just rolled it in Kelley and Bruce's That's My Rub and smoked it for a couple of hours with some Post Oak chunks.
It turned out to be the best Fattie we've ever done. We had a half chub left and I wanted something different to do with it for breakfast. Bisque came to mind and the next thing I know we're eating Sausage and TaterTot Bisque for breakfast. Yes, its a first time for eating any kind of Bisque for breakfast but it was worth it.
Take a look. If you want to try it yourself, the recipe is at the end. There's many ways to adjust it to your tastes but try this one first. I think you will be glad you did.

That looks outstanding, Leroy! It's so creative, using a great cast of ingredients. You knocked ANOTHER one out of the park!KelleyEgging with No Joke Smoke (Bruce), enjoying small town life in Brenham, TX., the home of Blue Bell Ice Cream. Thanks Kelley, but I just noticed that I said "That's My Rub" instead of "It's My Rub" when I mentioned the seasoning on the sausage. Sorry about that, but anyone with a lick of sense knows the difference. At least I hope so.EggObsessed said:That looks outstanding, Leroy! It's so creative, using a great cast of ingredients. I'm still trying to calculate how many calories in a serving. My little calculator only goes up to 99,999 then it says "Tilt." Trust me, no one will die from eating a few extra calories on my watch. Well, maybe one or two, but I'll just round the number down to Zero. It's easier...

Outstanding. I have some leftover grits in the fridge and gonna try some grits cakes later. Anything with grits is a winner in my book.Ellijay GA with a Medium & MiniMax
