Smoked Sausage Grits & Tots Bisque

Yes, it's me again. And I've been busy.

This isn't a meal for 'diet-sissies' but it could easily be a dead-man-walking's last meal request. Yes, it's that good.

It all started when I smoked some Jimmy Dean Hot Sausage. I just rolled it in Kelley and Bruce's That's My Rub and smoked it for a couple of hours with some Post Oak chunks.

It turned out to be the best Fattie we've ever done. We had a half chub left and I wanted something different to do with it for breakfast. Bisque came to mind and the next thing I know we're eating Sausage and TaterTot Bisque for breakfast. Yes, its a first time for eating any kind of Bisque for breakfast but it was worth it.

Take a look. If you want to try it yourself, the recipe is at the end. There's many ways to adjust it to your tastes but try this one first. I think you will be glad you did.

That looks outstanding, Leroy!  It's so creative, using a great cast of ingredients.  You knocked ANOTHER one out of the park!

Thanks Kelley, but I just noticed that I said "That's My Rub" instead of "It's My Rub" when I mentioned the seasoning on the sausage.  Sorry about that, but anyone with a lick of sense knows the difference.  At least I hope so.

I'm still trying to calculate how many calories in a serving.  My little calculator only goes up to 99,999 then it says "Tilt."  Trust me, no one will die from eating a few extra calories on my watch.  Well, maybe one or two, but I'll just round the number down to Zero.  It's easier...

Outstanding. I have some leftover grits in the fridge and gonna try some grits cakes later. Anything with grits is a winner in my book.
