Say it isn't so!  Glad you are back up and running.  Did a wheel get caught in the concrete cracking tipping it?

The bitterness of poor quality remains long after the sweetness of low price is forgotten!

Nowadays people know the price of everything and the value of nothing!

  • Glad to see you're back up and running. What's planned for the first cook on your "new" egg?
  • Good news. Seeing that pic on Super Bowl Sunday was unsettling. Is that the original bands? If so, I figured they would have been knocked way out of alignment.

Yes that's exactly what happened. The dome was salvaged and the BGE company covered the base at 100% warranty, so all I had to pay to replace was the firebox. All in all, not too bad I'd say. Could have been ALOT worse

Forgot to get a new placesetter when I picked the stuff up today, but did remember the handler...imagine that

So straight to steaks for the "first" cook

Original bands yes. They seemed to have survived ok

  • That picture is like a bad dream that keeps showing up. Hurts me every time. Glad you're getting everything sorted out.

I pretty much need blood pressure medication after our eggfest. It's small, but people show up totally unprepared. We preach to them for weeks about the handling and transport, but only half listen. I only have so many straps and tie downs to loan out. Lol!

It's stressful for me cause I would hate to see anything bad happen. They are heavy and awkward as you very well know.

Had that happened to me I think I would have installed the handler first then built the revived egg around the handler. Heck, maybe even figure out a way to install two handlers just to be safe!

somebody needs to put a video together of all the wild ways folks leave fests with their eggs.   can't tell ya how many times I've stopped guys from either using the egg's hinge to lift into a truck bed or try to put the egg on its side with fire ring and firebox installed to squeeze it into a trunk or hatchback.........the visual shock almost sobers ya up after a long day of drinking and eating.......
